Warp and Weft

Years ago I saw my grandmother
send a shuttle flying back and forth
across her loom to make a rug.
With no words she wove me a story.

A strong warp marries a delicate weft
through dynamic overlay and underlay.
Opposition creates a unique support,
and if one slacks, the other strains.

The grandest things like Yin and Yang,
strength, beauty, harmony and integrity
can be found in the humblest of rags
if they are united in balance and love.
