Intercession, for an Internet Session

Everyday I venerate icons
By kissing them in ritual;
With clicks of my mouse
I send human requests
To something incomprehensible:
"That I will be kept in memory,
That my hands will do good,
And that I will never forget
That any knowledge is useless,
Except where work is,
And that any work is empty,
Except where love is,
And that any love is hollow
Which does not bind me to myself,
To the others, and to you."
